BS: trinity English/foreign language exams

Hi all,

I have a language school in an isolated part of Spain. We run Trinity College London oral exams for students learning English as a Foreign Language.

I like the system, and the Spanish staff give me a great service. One of our "selling points " is that these exams are well know the world over, and recognised in the academic and employment worlds. ( As opposed to Spanish language exams which are only recognised in Spain.)

To be honest, it's not really the case that they are widely recognised here. They are not well known to employers where I am , in fact very few people have heard of them.

I wondered if you have heard of them in your part of the world ?

Katie, I was, in a previous lifetime, a Human Resources Manager (aka, Personnel Officer) for the US Veterans Administration. I have never heard of the Trinity College exams. The exam that we required for non-US trained staff (everything from physicians on down) was the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL ). You may want to check this out if your students are interested in education or employment in the US.

Today there is a language study school in the part where entirely, Spain is isolated in me.
